Why the Delivery & Accuracy of LED Wavelengths Matters

Facial Attraction are proud to only use Dermalux LED devices - The ONLY systems that can deliver all 3 clinically-proven wavelengths simeultaneously with optimal delivery and accuracy.

Whilst Dermalux LED’s leading LED device competitors often talk about the power of their LED’s, reinforcing the high optical power levels of their devices as a way to demonstrate competitive advantage over Dermalux - we prefer to focus on what truly matters – the wavelengths and the delivery and accuracy of each one.

The key to successful treatment with light therapy is based on the use of clinically proven and scientifically evidenced wavelengths coupled with optimum power intensity to maximise the light’s reaction with the skin.

When it comes to LED phototherapy, for the wavelength to be the most successful, it needs to match the target chromophore in order to be absorbed and trigger a beneficial cellular response. If insufficient optical energy is applied there will be no or minimal response and in turn, if too much is applied to the skin, then it will hinder the cellular reaction.

Dermalux systems use only clinically proven wavelengths delivered at the optimised intensity and dose enabling effective photobiomodulation of targeted cells and skin tissue with proven results.

All Dermalux systems use three clinically proven wavelengths:

  • Blue Light (415nm) – Blemish fighting Blue light destroys the bacteria which causes spots and helps in the prevention of breakouts.

  • Red Light (633nm) – Rejuvenating Red light accelerates cell renewal and repair, boosting collagen and elastin synthesis for smoother, firmer skin.

  • NIR Light (830nm) – NIR light triggers the skin's anti-inflammatory processes to accelerate repair and reduce irritation and redness.

The Problem with Non-Clinically Proven Wavelengths in an LED device

Many leading competitors of Dermalux do not use these same clinically proven wavelengths, thus the effectiveness of the LED and results for clients are compromised or non-existent. Using an LED that offers a peak optimum absorption is imperative to the effectiveness of the wavelength.

Competitors that use alternative wavelengths at varied nanometres such as 465nm or 880nm will not see the same efficiency and quality results of that of a clinically proven wavelength like ours. For example, the 415nm wavelength is clinically proven to be the best wavelength for bacterial and acne destruction and has approximately 10 times more absorption than the 465nm wavelength.

In combination with the use of an incorrect wavelength, if the power of each wavelength isn’t as high as that of a Dermalux system – many clients would have to spend much more time using an LED to receive the same benefits. Alternatively, if a wavelength is too high, it risks causing trauma to the skin.
